99 Ranger drop in fuel mileage

Post  plowboy34 on Tue 20 Dec - 16:43

It was a sudden drop. It has the 2.5 engine, It went from 22 city and 29 highway to 19 all the time. The check engine light is not on and naturally it doesn't give any codes. I was just hoping there might be a tech on here who has ran into this before. It also lost power, it never was a power house but it really is a dog now. Appreciate any info you could give me.

Thanks

Could be bad gas or a fuel fitler half plugged or even the fuel pump taking a crap. I would check fuel pressure first.

my honda daily driver is useing moor fuel also,it seems to be weather related.as the weather gets colder it seems to use moor fuel as a matter of fact about 1/2 tank moor per week.im not seeing a power loss though.
