Ford vs. Buick may be toast

Post  BigBlockRanger on January 23rd 2012, 12:27 pm

I guess the annual Ford vs. Buick grudge race in Noble is done. The word is the club that puts it on is out of $$$ and did not renew their contract with Thunder Valley.

Boo.

Its really sad when a race that you really enjoy comes to an end. When these races have a history of being enjoyable, and you look forward to them each year because you have met and made lots of friends there. It was like that for alot of us Ford racers that went to Norwalk each year and when it ended so abruptly it just wasn't the same last year w/out that race.

as far as that many buicks, of the 4 times i've raced, only one time was it a buick.

we usually have nearly 200 cars for this race, a lot of the buicks come from Texas etc.

Probably 10-12 cars come from Amarillo to that event every year.

I was under the impression they didn't charge the Buick's to race since it was their event. Any truth to that?

There is some local buzz to have a similar event here, but it's all just talking right now.
