It went 11.62 114 last sunday on motor in a 4100lbs truck on drag radials and 10.65 at only 122 with a 1.46 60ft. Couple things, the carb is tiny. 15 degrees out on a 82 jet is a lot. Where do the heads flow? That is a huge split on the cam(lift) and I'd like to see a more lobe sep.

I was planning on upping the timing a little at a time and watch the plugs and mph. I'm not sure where the heads flow but the original roller that was in the shortblock was in the .700s so id assume around there. The cam was made to be somewhat 50/50 motor and nitrous but now im getting a bit greedy lol. Im considering a new cam more for nos but I want to stay solid ft for the street. It has 1.73 and 1.8 rockers that is why the ex lift is high. I planned on going with a 4500 carb when I eventually build a bigger motor but thought it was fine for a mild 466. Can that be holding me back alot?

Ok I got a good deal on a nib big shot kit so I installed everything except the solenoids on my truck with 73n 65f jets. Checked my fuel psi with a borrowed IS flow tool and it ended up being 1psi low so bumped it up to 5.3psi pulled 16 degrees from 34 and I locked the dizzy out. Had problems both nights but first night I had one full pass and went 10.43 123 with a 1.43 60ft. Found out the next time out that my bottle was leaking and it was completely empty so I borrowed a bottle and ran 10.38 126.73 with a 1.46 60ft. Im happy with those numbers and I still have issues to resolve. My trans is flaring into 3rd so bad that it blew my power steering and alt belts off on the 2-3 shift. I reinstalled my old full manual vb and it feels good on the street so im going back this week. Im also going to try a 28x10.5s slick. All previous passes were on drag radials. Not bad for a 4100lbs pump gas street truck on leaf springs.

Good to see, looks like it picked up on less jet. How did the plugs look?

Gotta agree that the carb is on the small side. Also, what bottle pressure are you spraying at? Might not be giving it enough, but as Barney said, "how do the plugs look?" And to add to that, what plugs are you running? Might need a change to get you in the right heat range.

This is a lame excuse but between coolant leaks, nitrous leaks and belts blowing off I've only made 2 full passes with the current set up and haven't pulled a plug after a pass. I'm running Autolite AR 3932s. Bottle pressure is right at 900. My buddy is going to lend me his Holley 1000HP once I get some solid passes with the 850. Going tonight on slicks to see if it will take the full hit on the line.

So how did it go? Any updates? The 900 psi pressure might be a little on the low side. I know that for me and my 200' mud drags, I have my pressure up around 1100 before I purge to 1050 for launch.

A little but nothing worth mentioning. Got to the track late made 1 hit on the slicks hooked and went out of the groove a bit. Ran out of nitrous on top. 10.62 at 121 1.46 60ft. Went to fill the bottle but the track shack was closed so made a motor pass 11.67 113 and a whats left in the bottle 1/8th pass but it was slow.
