Drysump advice Empty Drysump advice

I need advice on the drysump system in my new car. I've never run
a drysump before so this is a new learning experience. Motor is a 645ci
BBF with a Peterson 3 stage gerotor drysump pump, Stefs 2 scavenge
pan and Stefs #4110 1 1/2 gal tank. Pressure out of the pump goes
to a remote mounted Wix 51515R Racing oil filter and then into the
main oil inlet fitting on the block where the filter originally went. I
thought I had the tank level and oil capacity figured out with 8 qts
in the system and the tank about half full at idle. I tested it revving
it hard and against the brake and everything was happy and had
great oil psi. But when I attempted to load the car in the trailer,
as I went up the ramp door the drysump tank over flowed! I measured
the overflow and it was about 1 1/2 qts. So I'm wondering if I just had
too much oil in the system? Or if my tank really needs to be bigger?
Or something else is wrong? What size tanks are you guys running
and how much oil capacity is the total system???

Rich

i know nothing about these systems but spent some time reading about them last night .....dont flame me but im just thinking out loud

1 - to much oil in the tank ...from what i read no more then 3/4 full
2- not a good enough breather system ...maybe your line to your breather is too small ..min -12
3- too much engine blow by is this a new build ?
4-try baffling the breather tank ?
