GOLF CARTS Empty GOLF CARTS

I will be looking at a 2-cycle powered golf cart that is for sale. From what I read, the older models utilized the 2-cycle engines. I would appreciate your opinions of the 2-cycle power that is installed in golf cart applications.

Dave.

I personally don't own one,but a good friend of mine has had the same one for about 15 years and has done nothing but routine maintenance(tune ups, tires and the such like) to it. He loves it. It is a 2 stroke as well. Surprisingly quiet too. ---RED

On the ez go carts 82 to 88 had a robins 2 cycle engine I have 2 of them 89 to 92 also had 2 cycle engine not sure on who made them and had a built in 2 cycle oil oiler but they are better engine than the 82-88 model from what the guy at the local golf cart dealer .I have one of mine apart waiting on the rings to get here you can rering them for less than $35.The biggest problem is the butterfly shaft in the carb wears the carb out but you can get a new carb for $135.The 2 cycle carts are not worth near as much as the 4 stroke carts are.I payed $200 for my last one it is the one I am building the engine in now. They are not a power house and will not pull like the 4 stroke does.I might be fixing to buy a 92 with a work bed on it that needs a new jug kit on it which cost about $400.

I have a 91 EZGO 2 stroke. It's not fancy, but does what I need it to. Pulls the car fine.
