Fabio....you had to have brought this heat with you to Tennessee. Take it back!! It's 103 freakin degrees here. Supposed to be 105 tomorrow. I'm lucky to have air conditioning in the machine shop though. You fella's that work outside, take it easy out there.---RED

No whining, a couple days ago, it hit 114* here and it's been over 110* for over a week. Over night lows in the 90's.

Got a little relief today, not quite as hot as yesterday but still a bitch. As I type this it's still around 80-82 degrees around the DFW area at 2am. That's better than yesterday at this time, but the AC is still having to work.

Was reading up on the benefits of switching to the foil faced OSB board for roof sheathing (when replacing a roof) to reduce summer attic heat and found some contradicting (I'm shocked ) info on the interwebz. Found a message board where one home builder (claims he is a home builder anyway) in AZ says he builds homes there using no foil OSB (just regular OSB) for the roof & no fill insulation (none at all....fiberglass or other) in the walls/attic....none. Claims he only uses his own patented thermal barrier wrap (I guess to form an insulating air pocket) on/in the walls & attic to insulate his houses. He claims that using the foil faced OSB board & regular fill insulation (fiberglass batt or blow in) in the walls/attic actually makes a house hotter in the summer time.

The funny thing was even though some people in the discussion (from their personal experience) were saying how they indeed did see lower attic heat/lower AC bills after a new roof was installed using the foil OSB sheathing, (or more insulation was added) this AZ builder kept going on how they were actually mislead (somehow) and weren't really seeing the improvements they thought they were seeing.

Gotta love the internetz.

It was 106* here yesterday.I went to the shop after I got home from work and it was only 75* in it w/no AC. It has a metal roof w/foil backed insulating board underneath .The walls are insulated w/6" rolled insulation. Stays nice if I keep it shut up.Gonna be really hot for the next week here
