Dragster tires

OK I have a 4 link car that has a tire that has a soft sidewall. If I put on a standard sidewall will it make the car react faster? Were trying to better the reaction times. I'm running this car this weekend At the Mile Highs and just look in my data base and I've never run this car in Throttle stop competition. But we have been trying to improve the reaction of the car. My daughter has been mainly driving this car and my Boy has had some seat time as well. But Today when I asked him what car he wants to drive I was somewhat surprised that he wasnt wanting to drive this car. He Owns a 5th of it...?
