Horsepower and setup's Empty Horsepower and setup's

Post  Moodyblues July 29th 2012, 12:42 pm

Went 6.0 headsup racing last night. Went 5.63/126 on a warmup lap. Backed it off to a 6.02/121 for qualifying and turned on red first round. So, I decided to turn the wick up and see what she would run, stood straight up off the line, came down hit it again and stood straight up again. I have some issues to work out I know. It ran the 5.63/126 leaving at 3600 and shifting at 6300. It just won't take full hp right now. 499 Ford Tfs heads, 8 inch 5500 stall, in a 2350 chassis 4 link car. Blake the Snake Cartwright builds horsepower!!!!. Im gonna get this thing weighed out and the 4 link massaged and I believe she has 40s in her on Gas!

Thanks Blake

7531 uses time or rpm...........if I had been smart and had it worked out before the TN race the traction control feature would have been nice.

no bars? i 60'd 1.19-1.20 w/o bars and my car's got ladder bars on it.i would'nt pull timing out to make it go down the track, hell you have a big tire chassis car,use it. Smile pull timing when you have no other choice but you do.make it leave and it'll pay off in better et's than pulling timing.

keeping the front tied down and on the ground without adding weight to the nose............ pulling just enough timing to keep the wheelie down.......... it will go faster. this is if the chassis/shocks are setup right also.

and it dont take 20* to get it done either........5-7* pulled out and ramped back in real fast will do wonders to keep the nose down......

5500 and the highest I can leave at is 4000. I'm not getting in the power band at 4000. I have 48" spring loaded wheelie bars.....so no I really don't have any bars!

your bars will work Russ,at the point you are now they only need to touch the track to get a little wheel speed. you should get the 4-link worked out first.
