nitrous and comprresion ratio?

does it matter how much CR you have for nitrous motor. Is more better 15 or 16 to 1 or would less be better 11 12? any thoughts?

imo it is better to not be over 11.5cr anything above that the tune ups get harder on parts

thanks Larry , I am at 15-1 now. My set up is a 598 A460 heads ported by Charlie Evans, Lem custom cam 1250 quick fuel. I leave the line on 300 shot and then bring in 225 more at .5 sec out. all this in a 65 F-100 at 3460# with a power glide and 430 gears. best pass so far has been 5.28 @ 132. I run a heads up class. twice now at 50 to 60 passes it has has developed a head gasket leak. I am trying to solve this and not sure where to start. Cometic gaskets

they are the 10 bolt, the first leak was between 2 and 3 cyl, this time I dont know , i have not pulled it yet. what will c-23 do?"

Its a better fuel made for nos and multiple systems, more octane etc.

do you think decreasing the CR will effect HP? I am assuming it will decrease cylinder preasure.

less cylinder psi could be a good thing.a little thicker gasket would be easy to try.

how big is the dome ? if any ? I would say the motor would definitely be better off on spray with the compression about 1.5 to 2 points lower. This will cut the dome down and give a better flame front path in the chamber, making the motor more efficient on the hose, as well as easier to tune.......if there is some sort of dome in this deal

also i would think the cam would have more input and where it was installed then the compression ....for a better tunning window

the heads were ported by Charlie Evans, I dont know what chamber softing is. I will post some picks and video when one of my Sons come over and show me how LOL I talked with Diamond pistons tech dept. today and they siggested lowering CR to about 13 to 13.5. thank yall for the input also!

So how about those pics? Sounds like a stout ass old truck. I'm assuming it has some chassis upgrades to be deep into the 5s lol.

C23 will help a lot. I switched last year and the tuning window got much larger. 600 inch ahead around 16/1. The reality is if your getting 50-60 passes out of a set with that cr, 10 bolt heads, and that much spray your doing pretty good and the 23 with more octane and better sg will help more.

I think the op is gone. He hasn't posted in 8 months and not logged in since November. Sucks I'd love to see this truck. 5.20s is fast in anything let alone a full size truck.
