Jesel Rocker Shaft Defect ?  Empty Jesel Rocker Shaft Defect ?

Anyone know if Jesel had a problem with just the end rocker stand breaking off the main stand? This engine was just refreshed by bennett racing, was never raced and just started making a noise, few days later ther other side done the same thing on the end..Jesel only will sell another 1 at cost..I was told they have updated these 3 times...

SBF head?

A longer bolt that extends into the base of the subplate would help i.m.o.

Lem Looks like you hit the nail on the head. THe bolts are too short. They didn't even go through the lower base

Well I don't know whether it is a short bolt or not. To me, based on the picture, it kinda' looks like the end of the bolt is broken off also. Colormebad is going to have to tell us whether the bolt is broken off or not. The normal length of those 5/16" bolts on most shaft rocker arm systems is 1.250" long. If it's true that Jesel has had three design changes/upgrades with this particular system, then that kind of tells you that there's a problem.

They are not broke! It just looks that way in the pic because thats the taper on the end your looking at..Now if they used the wrong bolts with the shaft stand i dont know till i call and find out tomorrow..They say all they will do is replace at cost with upgraded part

made up off muti parts and super glued together

The stand is 1 piece!

I just went and looked at the stands & rockers myself..They were overlooked , cause the bolt that goes through the rocker stand into the 1/2 stand IS BROKE...
His first shaft stand was part # STN 20143-R that broke and its some sort of metal..The second new stand he ordered is PArt# Stn 20143-C . It looks like billet alum or something...

I run the T&D setup myself ! 438 stroker with Brodix 201 heads...They are tuff stands..

I just looked at the bolts in my rocker assembly the bolts do not go to the bottom of the stand. they are about .250 short of the bottom. I have never broken a stand but did break the 2 end bolts that resulted in the shaft breaking at the center bolt which was still ok. I use Harland Sharpe

Well i been soo busy all year getting everyone else's rides going, never go to finish it up..I crank it about once or twice a week but all i like is installing the door windows & alum door panels that would take a few hours..I just ran out of time..I wanted to make it to the grudge races that were held over the past 2 weeks in holly springs ms..They had some fast cars there but i just couldn't get done in time...It will be ready for sure first of spring or when the track opens..Which ever one comes first..I build trans & motors for a living but grudge racing is what i love to do & will be doing...

Wow, that is crap. Jesel is supposed to be top quality stuff. I have been very happy with my T&D stuff.

Is it only the ends that are breaking? Any indication that anything else could be causing this issue? (coil bind, interference of some kind somewhere?)

Well if its only the ends that are breaking, then it does seem like some kind of design flaw, especially if they have already revised it 3 times. Wow, that sucks.

a longer bolt in the ends might help a lot

as long as the bolt doesn't go through the other side.

could a more hardened bolt help?

We dont know what gave first...Talk to alot of guys say they have seen this problem, where the rocker bolts were over tq'd..

Not sure how over torquing the rockers bolts would cause only the ends to fail?---as I would assume all of the rocker bolts were torqued the same?

I fogot what site i was on but someone said he broke 2 or 3 stands till he was told to tq at what the bolts were reccomended & it was like 37 or so ..Said after that he never broke another stand..Not sure about that myself..
