OK Pullers give me your thoughts on these two hitches

Hitch #one
Truck Pulling Hitches Dcao0024
Disregard the second tube under the main tube.
Truck Pulling Hitches Dcao0025c
Adjustable to lessen the angle.
Truck Pulling Hitches Hitch0181
Hitch #2
Mounts in same holes as Hitch 1
Truck Pulling Hitches Mack077
Truck Pulling Hitches Mack079

What makes hitch 2 better then hitch 1

other then the 30# of weight differants.

Interesting, I have followed both of these hitches when you done them on Reddogs site. The second one appears to be steeper but it should'nt be since it's in the same holes. I know from your stories that you seem to have done better at the end of the season with the new hitch. I'm not sure though what is making hitch 2 that much better. I'll have to study it some more. -A

Can't see the diameter of the hitch holes, but since the first hitch is simply a clevis welded in and the second is a bored hole, I'll offer an opinion.

The first hitch design is a straight angle and most likely either is the same angle as the chain or close to it. The second design, provides a smaller hole and a flat surface therefore not allowing the hook to rotate which shortens the chain length and loading the rear quicker.
Also, the second hitch should be the lighter hitch, which lets you put another 30 lbs on the front.

OK I went out and measures the hitch holes to see if there was a difference in them .

Hitch 1 has a 4 1/4" x 3" with a 1 1/4" Bar at the hook point.

Hitch 2 has a 4 1/4" x 3" with a 1" square Bar at the hook point. it has started to round the corners off after 4 hooks.
