D.I.Y. porting of an A-460 intake manifold Empty D.I.Y. porting of an A-460 intake manifold

I'm right in the middle of an engine build for my truck (598, A-headed deal) and my game plan is to install the intake & heads as cast. This is due mainly to $$ and the fact that it would leave me some room for improvement down the road when it needs re-freshed.

I've been contemplating doing some hand porting on the intake, since I've got more time than money (not enough of either, but you get the idea) and I was wondering if it's worth the effort? Basicly just remove some of the rough casting, smooth everything out and get rid of the cloverleaf, so it doesn't effect the N2O plate.

Not looking to do anything to heads, just the intake.

Is this a good idea, or a wasted effort where the heads are going to be stock?
