62 Fairlane Thunderbolt
I came across an article in Car Craft magazine about the first Fairlane Thunderbolt, which was built by Art Carr and Bill VonVeilt in early 1962. They were installing a tri-power 406 into a modified '62 Ford Fairlane 500. I thought that Bob Tasca had the first ones in 1963, and we all know that 1964 was when they aggressively built cars to compete. The car was never completed and according to the article it was shipped back to Ford. This was the first attempt to come head to head with Chrysler's attempt to dominate the factory built drag cars of the 60's. My '62 was originally a 6-cylinder 3 speed stick. Very interesting, any thoughts?

Tasca also had a '62 with a 406 in it. Don't know exactly when it was finished, but it did run, then they started on a '63 with a 427.
