Looking at subscribing to one of these. Picked up both current issues last weekend and I liked CK better because of the tech articles. Which one do you like better and why?

I like Hot Rod better. I look at it for entertainment, not tech so much.

I like and get both, but I prefer Car Craft. Hot Rod seems to be geared more towards more expensive stuff, that and I am getting kinda tired of seeing half the magazine dedicated to their Drag Week coverage.

I get both and prefer CarCraft over HotRod because of the tech stuff. HotRod HAS improved drastically in the last 2 years though. They keep me entertained at work. Very Happy

You can have all those cheby lover mags as far as I'm concerned. I quit wasting my money on them years ago. Also the stuff on velocity and the speed channel, if you can find one out of ten shows that talk about FORDS you're lucky, just how many ways can someone build a small block cheby Question The same goes for the Auto parts stores, you ask about a part for a FORD and they look at you like 'you mean you don't have a cheby', then they say wait a minute I'll ask the manager. Evil or Very Mad . Save your money so you can buy parts for your FORD, if you can find someplace that sells them.
OK, now I'm through with my rant, I'll have to go calm down and watch it snow Crying or Very sad .

Funny you mention that. I was at church last Sunday telling a guy that used to run a single engine mod tractor and he was like "so what motor are you going to run it it" I reply "Big block Ford of course" to which he says. "well I wondered, a lot of guys run a BBC or SBC in a ford" to which I replied "Only those misguided individuals that are told you can build a chevy cheaper"

Most of my old Chevy buddies wouldn't even think of running a Chevy in a Ford and most of them respect Fords. It seems that the ones that run chebys in Fords are the ones that spout off "you want to know how to make a Ford run better? put a cheby engine in it". Usually they are the ones with the 350 crate motors. Rolling Eyes .

I like both of them plus PHR. They all cover different genres of hot rodding so choose what you like. I don't buy them for tech I just like to see different things and different cars and what's new. Subscriptions are so cheap that I usually get a 2 year for $15 or something like that. Hot Rod has been all over the place lately with trying to change their appeal by going into overload with crap in every square inch of the page. Car Craft is still the cheapo hot rodder magazine. Trying to build everything for $500. lol. PHR does the Pro Touring thing so I like that as well. Lots of times you get Boy Scouts or schools selling magazines so I will buy them to support local clubs. I get Street Rodder, all the Ford magazines, etc. If you buy just 2 mags a year a subscription is cheaper so it is the way to go IMHO.
