They could be if Ford or someone with the resources would give someone like Larry Morgan the funding he needs. It's all about the money, the parts are there, they just need to be refined.

I don't think ford should be in funny car...but... prostock don't sell cars so they should have never blown the last batch of money on it.

I got two good sayings from friends about NHRA p.s.:

1] Don from Indy. "billionares have ran the millionares off".

2] Cliff Moore [Kaase's right hand man] "NHRA ProStock is where fun goes to die"

I don't like to post negative stuff but...it's just the way it is..all pro and no stock. If a guy had 5 million to throw at a p.s. deal....he'd be coming home in a greyhound bus before the end of the season.

They need to put the Stock back in Pro Stock, Production Bodies and Factory avalaible engines. bring it back to innovation over money..... at least it would be cool for a few years.

I get what Lem is saying. I just wonder how it translates into sales that a guy goes to the Ford store Monday after seeing a Ford Fusion go fast and turn left on Sunday. Why in the heck does NASCAR work and NHRA fail when it comes to our favorite brand? There is no customer base more loyal than Ford customers. The Ford truck sales confirm that. Even when there are versions that are less than perfect, we keep right on buying. I am amazed that some big timer at Ford can't figure out a way to get tapped into the grassroots Ford drag racers. There has to be some sales potential in this group.

This ramble is the opinion of the person at the keyboard and in no way was intended to convey any sort of cogent thought.

Seems the typical nascar fan , these days , is much more driver loyal than brand loyal. I.m.o. it aint like it was back in the '60s , '70s , etc.

A Pro Stock truck that was backed by the big three limited to factory body and frame and power has to come out of their Hi Performance catalogs say limit engine size to ~400ci, that would be an interesting class. Could really promote the companies and the average guy could relate to the class.

It really pi$$e$ my off that Ford seems to be content to 'suck hind tit'. I can understand why most performance minded people buy chebys.
I've always prided myself in not following the rest of the sheep, but I still get damn tired of hearing "know how to make a Ford run better, put a cheby engine in it Mad Evil or Very Mad

No matter what class they make, the guy with the deepest pockets is going to come in and get all the money and win. If there was a way to limit the amount spent on a car that would be one hell of a class, the guy with the best wit's would win (or most "donated" parts Rolling Eyes ). But it won't happen, and there are always people who find a way to get around the rules no matter what. It's fun to whoop chebby boys because they don't know how to react Laughing Since Ford is "junk" and chevy is "the best o.m.g so great nothing ever wrong with it it's the holy grail of vehicles and everything else sucks" Razz
