I see c&c motorsports shows a mag driven off what looks like an external oil pump in the opening page of their web page. Is that what it is and who else makes mag bases for supercharged big block fords?

The engine you are looking at on the home page of C and C Motorpsorts includes an engine block originally designed by Nick Arias and Alan Root (and currently offered by C and C) which has an accessory gear drive boss on the front of the driver's side cylinder bank. This optional gear drive mechanism may drive a magneto, an oil pump, etc. You cannot use this accessory drive mechanism unless you have the specific engine block that is designed to accomodate this exotic system on its frontside (as seen directly below).

All the components necessary to run that setup are available through C and C and may be found on their "Pricing" page under "GEAR DRIVE AND PARTS - CCM 4."

The offset mag drive that we offer is self contained and also 100% gear driven, and installs directly into the factory distributor mounting location and should fit any 385 Series block.

Please call directly with any further questions,
