Who is the best damper to use?? scratch ATI or TCI ???? confused And its best to internal balance motor right ? Not a v.big motor cam 623 lift. Any help is deeply welcome. Thanks Fastfrog pirat

use what ever balancer makes you warm and fuzzy inside.... as for Balance internal, external it don't make a hill of beans which just make sure it is ballanced, I have run both and didn't see any difference my external engine ran 8800 rpm many times if it was a big deal I think it would have shown up then.......

if I had to buy another one I would give this a shot..............in the meantime my ATI has served me well for over 14 years............and I just had it rebuilt and recertified a few years back for like 65 bucks.

For a race car I like ATI's stuff, I've used a number of them over the years and they have served me well.

I do have a TCI damper (not the rattler) on the Boss 429 EMC motor, seemed to have done its job. didn't notice any thing wierd on 3 teardowns.

I like the inovators west stuff, but haven't used one yet.

I have a Ford motor sport balancer on mine, the only thing I hate about it, is that it is shiny and glares when you put a timing light on it kind of like pointing your timing light in a mirror...... Shocked

I don't like that chrome nonsense either. Usually just fix it with black Moroso timing tape.
