It is time for the rubber to meet the road, if you feel more comfortable load it up, take it to a TT and make some licensing passes until you are comfortable, because unless you built it to sell it...It is time to DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT

X4!!!!
The rings only seat up with a load on the engine. Stop idling it and free reving it until your ready to beat on it. Until you do your just washing the cyl wall with fuel. The rings dont like that

Re: Spark plugs black
I rebuild atv engines, after each rebuild I have a process I go through.
I have a long hill just in front of my house I use to seal the rings on. I start at the base of the hill at 1/4 throttle and short shift the transmission so the engine will stay under load as I drive up. Then when I get to the top I turn around and coast back to the bottom. I do this a couple of times and each time I give it a little more throttle and more gear to keep it under load while watching the smoke coming from the exhaust. When the exhaust starts to clean up I am usually at full throttle pulling the hill short shifting to keep it under load. I do this until the exhaust is clean, (while keeping a feel on engine heat.)
