Low mount alternator bracket and csr water pump

Post  10SHOTS on November 30th 2014, 9:57 pm

What are you guys using for a alternator bracket after installing a electric water pump , I seen some aluminum ones on eBay but they don't look like they will work with the ford racing timing pointer , just trying to get some ideas

I can make one ,but I would rather buy one, the bottom bolt on the aluminum ebay ones hits the ford racing timing pointer , and for anyone they wants to know , ATI timing pointer is basically the same one as the discontinued ford racing

Do you have a picture of how it hits the timing pointer it may be helpful. Can you modify the bracket or put a spacer behind the pointer?

I'll have to take a pic ,but the timing pointer is in the way of the lower bolt on every aftermarket bracket that I have seen that's used with a electric water pump

If the interference is like a 1/2" spacers under the pointer and longer bolts might work, if not adjustable rods and spherical rod ends can be very helpful, with some careful grinding on spacers or shims for alignment...or crank trigger
