73 mach 1 t5 install?

I have a 1973 mack 1 with a 302 and a automatic trany. I have a 426 that came out of a galaxy that i would like to put in it, but i would like to go with a manual trans. I have herd that there are a few years of the newer Shelby's that have a really reliable t5 in them and can handle a higher hp output. I would like to find out exactly what bell housing and clutch will work with this configuration and if anyone has done this before maybe some pointers. I have also heard something about the t5's having a couple different positions for the shift leaver to be inserted into the transmission. Any info would be awesome!!!

Maybe it's the T56 you're after. I'm not your manual trans guru, but I think you'd have a full time job replacing T5's behind any self respecting bigblock.
