Charlie Wescott had some problems and was a couple tenths off ... Chris Holbrook is always a tough out.

Charlie was off on the setup but wanted some real numbers he could work with since he had very limited testing. Don't know if the car will ever be super competitive especially with the KB cars just leaving everyone but he could be competitive in the class with it seems a little more HP but really needs some good clutch setups and car setups.

As far as the Factory Stock showdown, it was 2 Camaro's in the final and Holbrook went red first round although he had his guy cover by a little bit, not sure really how fair it is with that class as Barton was 2 tenths faster then no 2 qualifier, but also only rules I saw with the showdown was based on weight and NA vs Supercharger, I didn't see anything about CID and weight only 2.3 L whipple at like 3350 and 2.9 L whipple at 3550, if that is the only rules(which maybe somebody else can find them all) the CJ is going to be really hard to win anymore as it is a 5.0 liter motor vs the 5.7 L Camaro and 5.8L Dodge and it showed when Barton was 2 tenths faster.

Ford tried a 429 in a CJ a few years back. What happen to this combo? My guess is Ford is pushing the 5.0 because that is what they our running in the Mustang.

Are you referring to the 2014 CJ with the 429W ?

It was a N/A 351W based engine with EFI.
Giant runner CNC heads, .650" solid roller cam, giant throttle body, and 13 to 1 compression.
Basic Comp Eliminator type stuff in a "Stocker" Rolling Eyes

Some guys did well with it at first, but I have not heard much about them in the last year.

It was probably the strongest naturally aspirated Factory Stock engine available.

Yeah, they pair the winner of the N/A cars up against the winner of the supercharged cars in the finals.
What is puzzling to me is there is not much difference in the index spread.
I would think the s/c cars would have a much lower index.

That just makes the N/A combos look more impressive.
But in my opinion, all those Factory Stock cars need to be in Super Stock...

Looking at the Factory stock showdown there are no index and it seems the only difference is weight. Clay arnett who was runner up runs a 350 motor with the 2.9L whipple same as the winner Barton. The Fords there were all the 5.0 with 2.9L whipple and it looks like the same weight as the Chevy at 3550. Chevy has been very vocal about winning both shootouts this year but when mentioned that there is a CID difference they ignore it. Ford maybe should put the 5.4 motor in one along with the 2.9 SC and see if they start fairing better.
