Looking to get a golf cart any opinions on brand and gas or electric? I'd like to be able to tow my truck if necessary.

The simplicity and power of electric carts is nice. Gas for more range but if I was buying one I would get a newer (48v) electric cart. Brand doesn't really matter much due to the parts being readily available for everything.

I have an old 36v EZ-Go. As long as the batteries have a decent charge, it pushes/pulls my racecar with ease. You'd probably want the 48v deal like whatbumper suggested.

Locomotives are electric for a reason. Yeah, gas carts are easier, but nothing will pull like a good electric cart.

Yea we already have a 1 yr old quad. It will do everything I need it to do. I just figured a golf cart would be less weight on the nose of my trailer and would also haul more people and be easier for my mom to get in and out of. (she has a type of parkinsens that has effected her mobility)

Alan,.....

I had a quad a few years back and even though it was "OK",.....it's nothing like a good Golf Cart with rear-flip seat so you can ride extra people. BUT,.....even though mine is an aluminum frame deal,....it's still pretty heavy.

I have a 48v electric Club Car and it's great. Personally,......I'd much rather have an Electric over the Gas model,....BUT,....that's just me. The torque is unreal. It pulls my race-truck just fine.

Everyone goes on & on about the batteries being expensive to replace,.....and granted they're somewhat right,.....BUT,... if you take care of them and charge them properly,.....they'll last you on average of 4 years. Considering I paid 600 bucks for my last set,......4 years would be 150 bucks a season,......If I stretch it 6,....., ...I'm only out 100 each year. Not too bad if you ask me.
