A460 block differences over the years

My block was purchased in the 90's sometime, if not earlier, I don't remember.

It looks different from the pictures of new blocks that I see on the internet. I found pictures
of a block that was owned by a member on here that looks like mine. Here is the link:

One big difference that I see in the pictures is that the deck is extended on the exhaust
side quite a bit, it looks maybe like extended water jacket. Was this considered an advantage at
some point in the past by the designers ?

What other changes have been made over the years ?

Also my 8 additional head bolt holes are not drilled, and the bosses in the valley are really huge,
about 3 inches long.

The current blocks are only extended near the bolt locations. Both style work just fine.
