OH YA the 35 are only for rolling it around in the shop. I will not be running them.

That looks like a cool swap. I have been eye balling my daughters Explorer for measurements for my 56 2 dr sedan. Another cool swap is using the crown vic front end in the 70's F150's.

i looked at doing that swap for the 55 but the width was a little to much. I will keep the projected posted as i go.

The old motor mounts looks like 3.0 motor mounts you will have to pull the springs off to get to the nuts that hold them on or use a torch as I did on my ranger. You will need the mustang swap pan bigblok86ranger on 460 and I think he is on here to can tell you more on how to put the 460 on that front clip as he put 1 in his. I move my enegine back 12" so I want be much help on that part.If yours had the 4.0 in it you should have the heavy springs mine was a 2000 with ex cab xlt and it had the heavy spring already. If you can look in the door that your front clip came off you can see with springs yours has.Good luck on your builg have done the front end swap on a 37 internal truck with a chevy z28 front end .

the springs are for a 4 cylinder but i can get the v6 spring if i need them. i hope i can get the steering shaft down to the rack the frame comes through exactly where the steering column is, oh well only minor details.

I know what you mean on the steering shaft I had to reroute mine alittle your come out at the bottom that might be alittle harder

I like the fact that it gets new front end I just don't like it being # 300 lbs heavier, I think I would have built it all on the old frame and figured a way to adapt the suspension to it....

the new stuff with out the tires was not to heavy i picked up and unloaded by myself out of my f250, i was surprised that it was not that heavy. i can just barely drag the old axle around the garage with the old tires and wheels on it. I cant wait to take it for a drive it will have to be better that what i had. when i tact it in i lengthened the wheel base by 4 inches or so because i want to move the fender well forward late when i do the body work.

i got everything welded up today and test fit the motor and guess what it wont fit down in the truck. I guess i will have to make a tunnel to get it to go in the frame. Any good ideas what to make a tunnel out of ? something quick and easy.

16 ga sheet metal mild steel work good that i have found and you can form it farly easy

the orginal steering box was already gone they had mount a power steering box in the old frame. sorry dont have one for him if i did he could have had it. let him know i have some factor stuff for the front. spindles brakes and cross members i cut out the rivets and removed it and the springs.

had to install some spacer between the sway bar mount but have penty of clearance now. Also got the frame out wide enough to fit through the front clip.

steering and a trans cross member with be the next on the list after boxing in the rest of the frame.

Looks good.
You may want to consider incorporating some rubber mounts on the motor, since its a streeter. JMHO, even though knowone asked!
