2-8 swap on cam Empty 2-8 swap on cam

My question of the day is about a 2 and 8 swap on a new cam.

A little back story. A lifter failure pretty much wipped the bottom end of my 533 at the end of 2021 including the cam. The machine shop I use, rebuilt the engine and went with a cam that was a good bit smaller then the first cam. New cam specs are .752/.748 duration 275/285 @.050, 110 lobe sep. Intake lobe degreed @106. Old cam was .809/.817, duration 282/292 intake @108, lobe sep 110.8.

Now that I have ran the new cam for 2023, I have been wondering if some hp/tq has been left on the table so I reached out to a few cam companies to see what they recommend. Once company responded with 276/286@.050", .500"/.485" Lobe Lift, 115 LSA, 112 ICL, 2/8 Swap, firing order.

I am familiar with the firing order swap on SBF's, but havent heard of it on the BBF. What do you guys think about it?

That is the same firing order swap as a 4 -7 on a Chevrolet engine. That swap was originally done in a small block Chevy engine by "Nickens & Brown" to more equalize the cylinder/chamber temperatures.
It is a Flat-head Ford firing order.
