cam choice help 552 stroker

Post  67fairlane on February 5th 2010, 6:27 pm

Im need some help picking a cam for my 552 stroker build

The car is -67 fairlane street driven only

The heads: ford racing scj unported
pistons: probe reverse dome
comp ratio: 10.6-1
block: d1ve-6015-a2 zero decked

I would like peak power around 5700-6000 rpm

And what intake manifold should I use? victor or dual plane?

The Torker II [FRPP T460] would be better than the Victor in that RPM range...i.m.o.

I was thinking of a roller cam
maybe the peak power could be higher than 5700-6000rpm
but I would like a strong bottom midrange torq

My point is that the SCJAs are a flat tappet spring package . The SCJBs have the solid roller cam spring package .
It's just a case of having the right parts per the application.

At that point it's all about how loose you want the converter to be...i.m.o.
