D1VE is a good block, but the "Truck" block is usually the D9TE. Difference is minimal, and there is a difference between a pickup truck and a HD truck engine.

The truck block D9TE has cyl. bores that are about 3/16 deeper into the crank case. This gives more support to the piston skirts at BDC, which is a plus in stroker motors. The D1VE can be stroked as well its just the earlier style casting and the cyls don't go as far into the case.
