FWIW, I had a set of Blue Thunder "B" (BBC exhaust) heads
ported locally back in 2006 and got these results back:

Most likely that was the price for a bare set of Blue Thunders a few years ago. Then you have to hone the guides and cut those square cornered seats and do a valve job. That's another $300+ dollars most anyplace, so we're at $1800 to $1850. Then add about $500 or more for the all the parts. Valves, seat cups, valvesprings, retainers, locks, seals, shims, rocker studs, and guideplates. That will put you at $2300+ for an assembled pair with steel retainers. The price will go up again with titanium retainers.

Charlie is correct, thats a bare head price, then you buy good valves, springs, retainers, locks, and then your valve job, in which blue thunder uses a very hard seat requiring a special cutter....you get the idea, good heads cost money, so does a good machinist to put them together right, and if you need an expert like Mr Evans to port them for max performance, then you need some more $$$$

It's the old story, you get what you pay for. It's like an old farmer told me, if you want good oats you'll have to pay good money, if you want them after they have been through the horse, I can give you a lot better deal...
