So I wanted to smooth out my ports and eliminate the bumps and what not that you get with the stock heads. What do you think, did I do a good job for a first time pocket porting job? My dad got the bump in the exhaust port down and got the majority on the one head down. I went over all of it to make sure it was good and made sure they all felt the same. Gave them a good inspection and ported the second one. Valves are 2.12/1.76 and before my dad cleaned up the chambers my builder showed me how to CC a head. The heads are D0VE-C heads off of a 1971 429 and they ended up 80.4 CC's. I thought they were supposed to be 72 CC's? The CC'ing was done after the valve job.

I polished them off a bit after I took these pictures:

The exhaust ports are smooth as glass now.

Looks good to me but I am no head porter by no means, one thing I done on mine was polished them with sandpaper rolls after porting them to make everything smooth as I could get it

"I thought they were supposed to be 72 CC's?" Most of the small chamber heads I have had & have, are closer to 77cc. 72 was for the CJs. With the clean up you have done, you probably added a few.

Chamber volumn also depends on valves being used and how many valve jobs have been done ( how recessed the seats are), or where the machinest set the depth when cutting for the bigger valves.
