fox mustang 8.8 rearend build up questions

I am building an 8.8 rearend for my bbf powered mustang. I hope the engine is 500 hp, and it will have a 3,000 stall converter in it with 3.73 gears, no transbrake. Will 31 spline aftermarket axles be strong enough?

I plan on welding the tubes, putting a girdle on it, factory locker, c-clip eliminators, 31 spline moser axles. Is this enough or should I put 33 spline in it, and will the factory 31 spline locker handle it?

Since you're buying axles I would go with 9 inch ends on the housing instead of c-clip eliminators, they tend to leak. You could also narrow the housing a few inches while you're at it for better tire clearance. Have the ends installed and the tubes welded by someone with a jig then you'll be sure it's straight, the tubes will pull when you weld them. I would say no to the factory posi and go with a spool or an after market locker. 31 spline's will work but since you're buying new axles bigger is better it just depends on what you can afford. It's better to spend a little more now than to have to do it over again when it breaks.

When I bought my stuff I just went 33 spline it was the same price I went with strange c-clip elems and no leaks

My Strange C-Clip eliminators leaked after I ran them for awhile, so I had 9" ford ends put on and the housing narrowed. This is much better than the c-clip eliminators!

ran c-clips all summer long with stock 28 spline axles my 60 fts are only 1.6 so im not leaving hard no leaks, just keep burning out the friction discs time for axles and a spool

33 spline much better ideal
9" ends also better ideal, welding up axel tubes a must, but will draw tubes off center lines.
Putting 9" ends on with a jig after welding up axel tubes will true back up.
