Thanks Damon. On the not tightening of the tranny mounts bolts....is it cause since the engine and tranny are solid mounted I may break a trans case?

Its because the engine is solid and yes it will break a case or housing.

Re: My build, my Fox transformation....lotsa pics
Well ...hopefully this is the last time the mock up engine had go in . Got some more accomplished. Here's some new pics.
It may be kind of hard to see the clearance I'm attempting to show that I have between the body/frame to the headers but believe me there is alot.
After the engine is in I can actually put the left header on from the bottom. The right header I put between the strut tower the midplate, drop the engine in and pass the removable tubes up, bolt them into place.....piece of cake

Mike: Look's like your making progress on the chassis and drivetrain. It's all a big can of worms, even when you think you've got everything figured out and then you run into something that won't fit! don't you just love it!

Did a little more work to the headers. Added the collector back to factory length, put some collector flanges on with some turn downs and got the evac bungs installed.
Had to notch my nicely fabbed trans crossmember for pipe clearance but it turned out okay. Cut where needed then boxed it in and added material on top for strength. She's coming along....slow but surely

Installed the radiator for a trial fit
Repositioned my auxiliary trans filter. It used to mount on that right side radiator bracket and also repositioned my trans cooler, no pic to show of that.

Re: My build, my Fox transformation....lotsa pics
Got my new shifter.... that I got from Joes Race Parts installed. It had a 1/4 stick in it but I wanted the pistol grip type. The new one sits a little different than the old one . The front lever would come in contact with the radio and the shifter wouldn't lock. So the center console was removed, along with the radio and I plan on removing the heater control.
I kind of liked the center console look, but oh well you got to do what you got to do. The console alone weighed 12 lbs. I believe I've taken close to 100 lbs from the car. The exhaust that was on it weighed in at 44 lbs. I'll have to do a re-weigh once the new mill is in which will have alum heads opposed to the d0ve c's that were on the old engine.

A panel was made and installed where the heater control was at. The color isn't off as bad as the picture shows.

Nice cover
This is an excellent thread on how to put a BBF into a Fox
Now put down the wrenches, grab some adult beverages and start heading to Owensboro

Well the mock up engine is out for the final time. The engine bay got squirted with some paint. It looks a whole lot better in black.
I need to clean this side up . Do a little fit and finish on the wiring.... going to try and kinda like hide it in the inner fender well . But I'm not going to tackle that project til after the new mill is in it. Cause I know the wiring worked before I removed the engine and this way I'll know it should work after the engine is installed

Here's a shot of how the trans cooler was re-done. It used to sit sideways down in front of the passenger front tire. One of the old blue support braces is still hanging there.

After you make sure they fit, you should send them out to be coated! I can't stand rusty headers!bigblockfox468 wrote:Here's a few pictures of my headers.

They fit great and I thought about coating them but didn't think they would turn out too well since they have been around awhile, been run, then sat, then rusted, etc. I hate to spend big bucks on them to only come out half way decent. Maybe I'll contact someone and have them take a look at them and see what they say

Those headers look great!! Better fit and no bashed in tubes!!
On my T-bird, the starter solenoid is on the passenger side cuts down on a bit of wiring.

Re: My build, my Fox transformation....lotsa pics
our starter solenoid is behind the dash inside the car. hides lots of wiring that way. like you said run the wires in the fender and move soem things around and it will clean up nicely.
edit: after looking at the pictures more you can put everything inside the car if you wanted. just an idea.
