Anyone running a 350 shot?

Post  Jeremiah on May 1st 2010, 1:05 pm

If so whats your tune up? how big is your motor? what kind of times you running? Im thinking of running 2 kits. one 250 on the hit and another 100 shot when the car settles... I have a built 466, C4 with brake. 3200lb mustang coupe...

not yet ... but will be testing soon

one thing you need to learn is "PATIENCE' with nitrous ........ 350 is a very large shot for the begginer , and im not saying you dont know but with the info you posted in requards to the tune you have on the plate , you gonna start poking holes in stuff Wink

i would say get your 1 stage lined out first , then work on the second kit .... that first stage @ a 250 shot should be setting your azz in the seat !!!! and you should be picking up some better #'s ( even though you have the p/c)

when i was spraying my plate before i met Steve i would pick up a couple of tenths ....but after i called him and got a baseline tune it was a completely different car ....hands down he knows his shit ...

just recently i sent both my plate and fogger back to him to get flowed and there was so much wrong with the parts , that i should she another hugh gain

there is a thread on here that you need to read i will bump it up for you

later Nick

I am 100% taking baby steps with this car... I was just asking for later down the road after I get my first kit lined out.. Just seeing what everyone was running and what they were getting out of it... Very Happy

man thats a big hit for a plate, maybe when the new tfs intake comes out but with the victor I'd be careful.

i ran my 528 with 200hp off the line and 200hp more,1second timed delay later 400hp in total.
i was using a nitrous works cross bar system it worked well for me.
it gave me another second on the quarter..use to run my cleveland with the same set up ran good for a long time..had to repace cranks every season as it use to chop out the centre main bearing..crant flex i guess.

I agree that the Victor needs work with that kind of tuneup. But i have sprayed a 110 squared which is about 345 or so so it can be done you just have to sneak up on it.

It can be done on a plate, but it isnt for the faint of heart and you REALLY need to work on the intake ALOT, and you have to be on your game with the tune, or you WILL hurt some outer cylinders. A fogger IMO is a little more forgiving with that kind of tune, but the plate is fun to play with too. Just take some time to learn what your combo asks for, the rest is just math and testing, testing, testing.

Imo taking baby steps isnt starting with a 250 shot. you should start smaller and bump it up as you get everything lined out then you'll have a good time with it without killing your motor to find the best tune, trust me i've put holes in pistons with only a 100 shot when the tune was off (yes it was way off) but still only a 100 shot which i thought was safe even if the tune was off but not true.

I spray 300 + on a stock block all the time. 100 plus passes. Keep check on the timing and fuel pressure and you should be good. I leak down my engine after ever race and it still is fine. I checked main and rod bearing two weeks ago before Pinks and everything is looking good.
