Getting Ready for da' Bash
Okay guys,
Here's the weekend report thus far. Friday night at U.S. 60 Dragway, it was rained out. But before the rain George Keown ran a 5.68, 5.69, and 5.70 with his wheelstanding black pick-up truck.
Tonight at Windy Hollow, Bobby Small debuted his new American Racecars dragster with a 638 CID Pro-Filer headed engine, with single QFT carb on nothing but VP gas, and ran a best 60' time of .990. His 1/8 mile time was 4.52 @ 153 on his first full pass,,, and with Phillip driving it the car ran a 4.51 @ 153 mph. They both say the car will go in the forties.
Also at Windy tonight was Bobby Shrewsberry with his new 2010 American Racecars dragster and a 559 CID P-51 headed engine, single QFT carb on nothing but VP gas and ran a best 60' time of 1.013. I believe his best e.t. was 4.77 @ 143 mph. Bobby went several rounds and finally got beat in the 5th round. His words were; "It's a deadly consistent car, I pedaled the first four rounds."

Rick,
I'm thinking mid to high 70's last year. They blew a transmission/convertor up Friday night on the 5.69 pass and loaded and left before I realized they were gone, (I was busy helping Bobby and David Lynch who was also there). I think there is still some there when they get everything sorted out.
