Tire Size - bracket car
I am back-halving a 69 Mustang Coupe and was wondering what tire size would look/perform well on this. This will be a bracket car that will run in the 10's. The floor is bad in the car and replacing it is out of the option. I have been looking forward to cutting a car up for some time so this is it.

as big a tire as you can to make sure it hooks in any condition....

Does anyone have any pictures of a 69 or 70 big tire car?

this is what mine looks like with big tires

but I like the big tires some tracks around here are marginal.... oh and if you need a set of headers for it I have a set of 2 inch for a 429/460 in it...

I screwed up when I did mine, its was just a mini tub turned full tub, just needed room for a big 10.5 deal, now I'm limited on space. I can get a 31.25x 12.2w under it, well it will this winter lol.
Just be sure to do the front as well, I'd just get a complete tube chassis kit and start welding. Mine is a front half backhalf deal, even with lexan and glass hood and bumbers car still weighs 3000# w driver. All that factory stuff in the middle is heavy.
Be able to get at least a 14x32 deal under it.

A wise man once told me..."If you can't hook a 14X32...you need to work on your suspension"....FWIW.

yeah I screwed up also way back when. I put a 30x13.5 ET/street under mine. Started out as a street car turned race car. Now it is gutted and just about ready to put it under the knife......so a 14x32, guess i will have to stretch the openings a few inches.

thanks guys, you have now got my brain gears turning.
I'm sitting here in the hospital watching pinks all out and my wife laying in bed. I will be a first time daddy this time tomorrow.
