Need a light weight spool

Post  bbf-falcon on June 15th 2010, 10:09 am

Guy's,I need a 35 spline light weight spool(not Alum)and it has to fit a Strange case. Mark Williams won't fit, they are too big.

I may have a line on one...I'll check this afternoon.
Is it a 3.062 or a 3.250 case?
Are the axles Strange too?

That is why I asked about the axles....You can get a Richmond spool for a 3.062 case...35 spline. I thought I knew where a used one was but, it is already spoken for.
If you go with a Richmond piece, just make sure to tell Moser that you want the splines cut for a Richmond spool. The Moser 35 spline will not fit a Strange 35 spline or a MW 35 spline and so on.
I've already been down this road... http://www.429-460.com/chassis-tech-f3/9-3062-vs-3250-minor-dilemma-opinions-wanted-t4178-15.htm#50291
Be sure to read the last post about the splines running through the spool.

I've alway been under the impression that only the Mark Williams stuff used a different spline angle and their stuff wouldn't interchange? I've swapped between Strange, Moser and others before with out issue 28 & 31 stuff

When you call Moser to order your axles, they will ask you what brand of spool you are going to use...there are subtle differences between different manufacturers.
