Should I take it back

Post  95lightiningguy on Tue 6 Jul - 16:07

Ok the guy I had deck my block didnt tell me he left the pistons 0.012 in the hole. I called and he said he had already taken .035 off and didnt want to get piston too close to the head. I have stock crank, rods, and Probe L2404 24.4cc dished pistons with dove heads. My head gaskets are from ford and I believe they are .041 thick. Is .012 going to be ok or should I take it back and have him bring it down to .005. Would just like some opinions before I finish putting the short block together, thanks.

Depends on what you are going to use the engine for. NOTE: the compression ratio, on PROBE pistons, is figured with the pistons .010 in the hole. I wouldn't sweat the extra .002.

Like Chuck said, you will never feel the difference. I'd rather have some room to work with in the future. Smile
