Hello from NW Indiana
Hi everyone. I've spent the last 20+ years running small blocks. Thanks to a chance comment by a friend of mine, I'm seriously thinking of installing a BBF in my car over the winter. Currently I have a 408W in my car, and I was going to put a reverse rotation F2 Procharger on it over the winter. My friends comment was why spend all that money on a Procharger when you can get a set of Kaase Boss9 heads for the same amount. So what does everyone think Procharged 408W, or 547 CuI Boss9, as the next engine in my 71 Pinto? Here are a couple of pictures to help you decide.

Thanks.
Craig

Thanks.

It's hard to beat the "wow" factor of the Boss 9 heads and they should run strong as well. Welcome to the big block world, you'll never look back

sweet Pinto!
I say throw the Procharger on there.... unless you have to build a new short block anyhow. If that's the case, go with the BBF!
Either way it's gonna haul some hiney

I gotta build a new short block either way. The current 408W is 12.6 to 1 and the solid roller was made for a late model circle track application. Neither lend themselves to a procharger application. A Boss9 certainly would have the wow factor. My only concern is that the exhaust on the Boss9 points down quite a bit, compared to a 408. As you can see in the pictures the engine is mostly behind the front suspension, but the front cylinder of a Boss 9 might have the exhaust pointing straight into the top of the A arms.
