slightly pull them apart so the look like a spring.

insert them and roll them in, might need a small screw drive to push them in.

Its not hard.

Thats the way to do them. But don't pull them way out, maybe untill they are 1/2" or so.

Mine came with directions and they said to pull them apart almost 3/4". Then use a little flat blade screw driver to work the spring in. I was installing them just as fast as my bro could lube and install the wrist pins.

I take my index finger, place it through the hole in the spirolock, catch the end of it with my fingernail, then push the end down into the groove. Roll it right in with a screwdriver from there.

Yup. Use your index fingernail. They go very quickly when you get the hang of it. It helps to dull the end of a small screwdriver for use as a tool, making it more of a mini spoon.

Like already said some are a breeze to do some are not for example i had a set of .030 kb hypers for a 302 that were easy in or out but the .060 set were nearly impossible to do i had to do a lot of smoothing out of the sharp edges with emory cloth. Now the lock in tool is the bomb you can do all 16 in a matter of minutes www.lockintool.com

Yeah thats a whole 'nother issue. I wish they could modify the end to make it easier to get hold of. Once you get the end started out, they pull right out.

I think I wasted 30 minutes one day trying to get one out. The next day I took all 8 pistons to my engine guy he had them all out in less than 5 minutes. I just had to shake my head. Mad

Those things are a pain in the ass.
