Bob Munden is bad, bad man....I have saw him do some pretty amazing things over the years. Shoot coins from the sky.....make a 600 yard shot on a balloon with a pistol....

Edit-I believe it was 600 yards, not 1000...lol.

I still think he is full of S*^t made a statement he shot a balloon @ 600 yards with a 45 auto..... No Friggen Way in Hell.... that POS won't shoot that far if you dropped it off a 700 yard cliff... I think he sniffs to much gun powder residue and his brain is fried.....

One time a person stated to Elmer Keith that he would rather be shot at 600 yards with a 44. than point blank with a BB gun. Elmer had shot a mule deer at 600 with one of his 44's not too long before and stated that the bullet had done it's job and killed the animal. He also stated that he would rather have a small welt from the BB gun point blank than a be dead from the 44 @ 600yds. I know a 45 is not near the cartrige that a 44 is, but I know for a fact that they will go that far. We have shot silhouette with long slide AMT's and such and they are a lot more accurate than most people will be willing to agree with. One of them we were playing with would do under 1" at 100yds. Mind you that is not a stock firearm by any stretch.

Bob Munden is a showman, and he knows how to get a response to his words and actions. I think he's funny as heck. He does brag a lot about his abilities, but if I had that kind of ability, I might brag a little too.

I saw him on TV once doing a fast draw show and he put 4 slugs down the pipe of a Peacemaker in less than a second. And he hit 4 balloons while doing it.

I have a warmed over 1911 that I used to shoot gallon jugs out to 300 yards with it, now I wasnt hitting them everytime, and my gun is not a factory piece either. So 600yds doesnt sound like its out of the question at all. I think you would be using it more like a piece of artillery than a pistol when you do that though, because you would probably have to be aiming close to straight up to hit something at 600yds. I dont have sound on my computer at this moment and I sure as crap couldnt read whatever that was across the bottom so I cant comment on his attitude, but most exhibition shooters tend to brag alot. They're entertainers....either way, that dude is scary fast. Awesome video.

I don't know about you guys but I'd rather not be shot by any of them.

As far as a 100 yards with pistols, not a problem, used to shoot .38 specials and 9mm at beer cans all the time. Farther than thats it kinda fun to count how long it takes a .38 special light load to get their....

It's funny this topic came up....Tomorrow night on Impossible Shots Bob is gonna' try the 600 yard shot....The time I saw it was on Shooting USA I believe...

Bob Munden lives only about 70 miles from me, just outside of Butte, Montana. In fact, I drive by his place on my way to the drag races when I go.
