My block was a 460 that came out of a 1975 ltd, the truck I am putting it in has the wiring all jacked up in it and is a race only truck. So all I need is a 1 wire HEI distributor like a gm has in them.

Tiger, Davis Unified Ignition, AKA DUI has the type you asked about. But be aware that there are interference problems with the t-stat housing and depending on your intake manifold, there may be problems there too. They, (DUI) do make a modified t-stat housing and a taller version of their dist at an additional cost of course. Do a search of Davis Unified Ignition.

However with the cost of a new DUI unit you could buy a MSD box and distributer or use the Ford dist. electronic or points type. Cheaper still for used units. You may already know this but in case you didnt.

I got my brand new, tall, DUI distributor, along with a spare cap and rotor for like $120 shipped on ebay. No fitment problems at all with my FRPP SVO intake (Performer RPM) and a stock T-stat housing.

I got the info on the clearance prob. off the DUI site where it lists their unit at well over $300. I see on ebay there are some s/s units for $41.50, if that is what one wants.

I wasn't trying to argue with you or anything. I have a DUI distributor I got off ebay (from performance distributors) for $120 shipped. I have it installed on my 460 with an SVO/Performer RPM intake with a stock T-stat housing and I do not have any clearance issues at all. I just thought someone might be interested in my personal experience...
