Max hp before it breaks

I have a 70 lincoln block, what is the max hp i can get out of this? Ive heard several different #s

Anywhere from 750-1500.

In other words...it depends.

And a poor tune or poor build can break one at less than 400.....

IMO 750 is a good safe limit for a 2 bolt block N/A tuned properly, to 950 you'll need 4 bolt caps and a fill is a good idea... Above that an after market block is suggested, but stock ones have been used above this level successfuly.... Its all in how lucky you feel and you abilities as a engine builder / tuner.

Is the same for blower or turbo, i have been reading guys making 1000 at the wheels easy. Am i misunderstanding or misinformed?

Turbo's are supposed to be easier on parts when tuned properly. But, a turbo engine with a 'slightly-off' tune can cause damage very quickly. So, the tuning window isn't as forgiving.
