When does it become necessary to use gas ported piston ?

1/16" top rings do not need them.
.043" Dwall ...good idea.
.043" back cut...for sure.

it makes more power,so if rules allow we use a piston with the right ring pac

Thin lightweight ring packages,,,gas ported pistons,,,and a vacuum pump all go together. They are like "enablers" and support each other.

Can you run gas ported pistons on a nitrous motor? Do you have a better chance of having problems?
