Are there different sized lifter bores in a DIVE block

So,,,,,I guess you are saying that Comp Cams is at fault? Why don't you use your micrometer and carefully measure the diameter of the lifters and tell us what they measure?
If the two blocks were cleaned and steel abrated, then the lifters probably aren't going to fit until you polish or hone the lifter bores.

The lifters are fine for the other blocks, the core block lifters did not fit.
I checked & the lifters are .873 Comp Cam 832-16 No Comp is not at fault they fit fine in 5 other blocks I have. 2 are fresh from the same shop fit fine, 3 are cores fit fine, I wonder if he changed the shot blast media to a more coarse type?
Edit: Nope same as he always used just called him. Baked, Blasted & Jet washed
His helper must not have cleaned up the top & bottom of the lifter bore...
Never had to hone the lifter bore before done 100's of builds all good never a problem. I guess I will pound a old lifter in there to work it around to clean it up.
Charlie you Hone & polish the lifter bore? Never seen that done unless it was bushed.
The casting number is hard to distinguish looked like DIVE upside down numbers toward the deck surface letter on the lower side.
The date stamp is 7A19 is that a Truck block made in 1977? A D5 or early D9?
This one has me stumped We were set up for delivery today. Guess I will weld an old lifter to a rod & get out the hammer.

Get a brake cylinder hone or small ball hone and do it right, hammering a lifter in is way out of line.

Why don't you tell everybody here what you finally figured out, like you did on the other website?
