Classic update
Unfortunately I broke the hemi motor at Cordova the week before the Norwalk
Halloween Classic. Blew a head gasket, sucked some water and spun #2 rod
bearing. So I swapped in the old 553 wedge bullet to make the Classic.
It ran flawlessly, 5.88-5.90 (1/
just wasnt as big a rush driving as the hemi
motor:cry: . The weather wasnt the greatest but we raced everyday and none of
the daily bonus races I entered were rained out. I went 3 rounds in the Fri
night race and three rounds in the main event before breaking out .01. It was
cold and windy many days, but still a good time. Would guess they still had
1000+ entries even with the poor weather. Norwalk is just such an awesome
place!!! Truely sad there wont be a Ford event there in 2011
Sorry, only real pic I took all week was of my dog trick or treating Sat night.
Well you asked for it.....

Hey Rich,All of us that always made the Norwalk Ford deal should all meet again sometime at one of their other events. I'm gonna start running the Nostalgia shows if I don;t quit.

There is a big Nostalgia show up here every year in September.
Rich, I'm sure we all know what its like to wait for an event all year then last minute have major problems, one that manage to come out of nowhere. I'm just glad you were able to race.

Classic Update
Thanks guys. Became good "once a year friends" with a number
of guys I met and only saw at the Norwalk Ford race.
I heard Bader couldnt get a sponsor for it for 2011 so dropped it.
Wonder if Charlie or someone else on this forum might want to
sponsor it there? Dont know what kind of $$$ Bader is looking for?
Its sure a great location for a Ford race tho. May consider doing
the Milan or Columbus Ford races next year? Rt66 is close to
home, but a joke because its combined with NMRA & NMCA.
I'll get the hemi motor fixed over the winter and have it back in
action for next year. It was all brand new and I wanted to
disassemble it anyway to see how it was doing internally.

Re: Norwalk Halloween Classic
Bader told a friend of mine that he lost $100K this year at Fords at the Summit. I don't know if he meant because of sponsors, weather and attendance or what.

He prolly lost that much drying the track, I still think Bristol would be a great time.

Bristol is a very nice facility. The 2 things i dislike akout Bristol is the pull(mountains)getting too it,and the car WILL be 2 tenths slower because of the atmosphere.

I'll pull you up the mountains, no one will know your car is slower, except you, it will run about what you ran at Norwalk, prolly faster.
