pcv valve problem?? Empty pcv valve problem??

Post  Big block fox 339 December 2nd 2010, 4:29 pm

Im having problems with my pcv valve its ran straight to the intake because the carb dont have a port for it.
The problem is its sucking oil in and coating my spark plugs on that side.
So I tried just a breather now its leaking oil everywhere getting on the headers and smoking.
I gotta try to fix it before saturday trying to make my first race!!

thanks for your help

micah

ps... I already have a baffle in the valve cover

PCV isn't the problem... the baffling isn't good enough to keep the oil separated. Even if you ran header evac it'd smoke like some Schevy shyt...

Improve your baffle setup to not ingest oil Wink

Use something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-68772/ (not sure if this is the correct size as there was also another one avalible)

Or add something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-EFIBAFFLE-1/ (or tig weld in something that will do the same thing)

Or build/have someone build you a small alu box with a fitting in the bottom that will fit and plug into you current PCV valve location and an opening in either the top or side of this box that you PCV valve w/ new grommet can plug into. Also make it where you can access the inside of the box. Because you may need to put a pc of foam in there to act as a pre filter.

Just a few thoughts on the subject.

You might have another problem if you have excessive blobye.
