WHICH 750 Edelbrock carb...? The "economy" carb versions will act that way, if the engine isn't completely "stock".

I got a 750 edelbrock too, put it on my maverick. I would go to get on it and she would hesitate, then it would catch up and rev. And that was when it was in park or neutral, I had to ease on it when in gear or she would stall. I couldn't burn rubber. My machinist said that those carbs (not sure on the model) were very hard to tune so we sold it and put the 650 edelbrock back on. Never ran better, I also think it was way too much carb for it when the 750 was on. What size engine is this on anyway and how big of a cam?

seems like the part numbers were 1406 and 1407 or somthing but what randy said, the street version is lean off idle and thru the lower mid range. the metering springs and rods need to be changed, its easy done and you dont even have to pull the carb apart
