Which c6 case should I get

Post  scottk on January 9th 2011, 2:13 pm

Is there a specific c6 case that is stronger than other cases? I have seen some with ribs on the top are these better? Heck maybe they all have the ribs on top. I found one out of a 76 camper special with has ribs on top for $50 that is still working in the truck. Is this a decent deal?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Scott

It really doesnt matter which case you use. I have used both in my mud truck and only way I have ever broke one was when I snapped driveshaft u-joints(three time this year) and the driveshaft hits the tranny and bust the side off.

For what it's worth, I parted a 1988 f250 with a c6 and it had a smooth case.

Only thing I ever cracked , was the tail shaft housing, two or three times.
