Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
Plus my wife just had what the Dr. calls a light heart attack Tuesday night spent a day in the hospital she doing better now plus she got to have surgery on the veins in her legs next month 9-17-15. Think she may have had a blood clot from one of the veins in her leg brake loose and go thro her hart. So it looking like the Doc will get all the extra money for a while but family is way more important than the truck and going racing. We can do that later after we get her back to good health, she stays in pain with her legs right now. Hoping the surgery will fix that and she gets where she can stay on her feet longer without pain.

Finally got around to getting everything finished and it fired back up. 1st time out of the yard since I put the new frontend under everything felt good. Steered great, brakes work great, got on it good then hit the brakes hard the bump steer felt good. Toilet is a hold different feel for sure a lot more responsive did leave some track out on the road straight no pulling one way or the other. Now if I ever get time to get it back to the track for some tnt I think it will run some high 5s.

Well looks like I will pull the truck out of the trailer and do the winter prep on it the next weekend I have off. To many health problem in my family to worry about trying to get to the track this year. My youngest Daughter has some kidney problems will be taking her back and forth to Atlanta to Emery University until the end of Nov. as it is right now. My wife has another leg surgery on 11-12 so I will put the truck away and pray for a better year next year. Try again next spring to go to the track and see how it does after the changes and see if I can get some high 5s out of it.

did finally did get back to the track a few weeks back but tires had lost all their grip after the 60' mark shaking the tires on top end bad they would never get sticky. Bought a new set of MT ET drags 29.5x13.5 got them on and was checking the valve lash found 2 cracked rocker arms and blown head gasket pulled heads they look fine. If my parts get here and I can get it back together by Friday and the rain stays away Friday going to try it again.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
ok got to make 2 tnt runs tonight bad air tonight came a flood about 5 miles from track humidity was 74%
1st pass was a easy pass only about 3/4 throttle did a long burn out for the 1st heat cycle on new tires
60' 1.490
330 4.257
1/8 6.527
mph 109.08
1000 8.469
1/4 10.183
2nd full throttle leaving at 4500 rpm
60' 1.350
330 3.918
1/8 6.082
mph 113.40
1000 7.961
1/4 9.643
mph 122.76
ALL and ALL a good night did have my oil light come on 2nd pass it set at 30psi when I let out on the big end but did notice the oil was down around zero for a split moment so I just decide not to add another qt of oil. I going to pull the pan and check the bottom end good to be on the safe side and get a new pan with baffles.
