thats nothing new here is an english train video the engine is an opposed piston like that. the german version is probably better for the environment though

not New we have had them in the gas production for 60+ years... just not very efficient.....ours were an 8 cylinder horizonal engine with opposing pistons....

Opposed Piston
Some Navy ships have opposed piston engines, Fairbanks Morse I believe.
