Re: 495 Iron Head Combo
Thanks guys I just copied my post from the other site. This is what the motor did right after I built it in early '08. I went back earlier this year to try to get a little more but wasnt able to find much. I tryed using 1.8 rockers and it lost power, the cam was installed on a 106 intake centerline changed that to 110 with the help of a Cam Research adjustable timing system and gained approx 30 lbs of torque all the way across the board but lost about 10 - 15 horspower at peak. I also had a 1050 old style dommy on it and upgraded to the 1250 hp. Also I did a leak down test when i finished the '08 season and everthing was in good shape so i didnt re-ring or bearing the motor.

Re: 495 Iron Head Combo
just shows you that IF you have a set of those iron heads...really is no need or cost wise to buy the tfs heat,p51,edels,etc, unless you are stepping up to the a-460, or c's and up. imho

Re: 495 Iron Head Combo
JM I hate to disagree but Iron heads are ok if that is all you have or have to run them BUT in the end to get this out of them I spent alot of money actully more than aluminum scj's would've cost and I honestly believe that the tfs streets, scj aluminums, or p-51's if ported correctly can make more power than my iron cj's.
Thank you to everyone for the compliments.

Todd I'd agree with that 100%, the money spent on the iron stuff is worth it only if class rules mandate it.
